someone should make an RPG where you can raise friendship between you and your party members and either choose to turn it into a romantic relationship (with no bearing on stats) or stay friends, all regardless of gender or presence of existing romantic party members (resulting in polygamy)

and to be clear, relationships between party members can also be fostered with the same mechanic (for true polygamy). also, the lack of bearing on stats is so people who are aromantic won't feel uncomfortable with using the least efficient party formation due to being locked behind romance
