Whatever you wanna create, start it now. Your art will never feel ready because your expectations will also grow with your skill. Its a constantly moving goal post. Learning how to actually create things is a skill and is far more important that draftsmanship or anatomy or whatever.

That's the one that sticks with me most too, because it applies to so much more than illustration.
