In my 'Environmental Geology' class today, we'll finish covering Chapter 4 on glaciers & glaciation. I've haven't taught anything related to glacial geomorphology since the Paleozoic of my youth, so it's been a great review of moraines, eskers, drumlins, arêtes, cols, & other cool terms. 🧪🪨⚒️🧊

My favourite was roche moutonnée. Probably because it sounds like something that should be on the dessert menu. The literal translation is sheep's back which is sadly not a dessert but more a main course item.
