-the parents of the twins they are vey supportive of their children who have slightly different approaches with them (they also have a daughter but she's not plot relevant) - shari's single father who struggles with empathy -Pravaal's horrible parents -Ameera, a loving but a bit protective mother
so, the lypha parents wind up dying in a pogrom in inhuman. this may just a little bit be related to the fact that my mother dropped the reality of the holocaust and how nazis wanted to exterminate everyone like us on me when i was *checks notes* four
Jade's story is more centered around his partners but the way he is now is directly influenced by his parents' story Originally just made Olive and Turquoise for the lols but absolutely fell in love with them and gave them their own story shjshsjd
My space pirate OCs have a lot of family dynamic. Caleb (the human) adopted Simon (the blue dude) when he was a baby and tries to be stern with him, but doesn’t want to be like his own father. It gets more frustrating when Simon is being a little turd. (and yes repost the old posts too!)
Little tardy to the party, but familial relationships, especially strained ones, are a huge focus in my comic. The art piece below depicts characters lost before the story even begins, but they all had a huge impact on the resulting story and prominent characters.
god, just about everybody... in these stories about time and transness and limited autonomy, parents and being a parent— presence, absence, becoming, losing— is a consistent theme from SUPERPOSE to the rest of my work.
A not insignificant part of the story and Kyara's personality, revolves around her relationship with her (deceased) mother Cathrine. Cat died when Ky was at a young age, leaving her with an idealized version of Cat in her mind. Worst of all, she compares herzelf to this idealized image.
Well! Aether's father is Themis, they have a good relationship until all fucked up in their world (lol). Then, well, Epsilon appears proclaiming himself father of Aether and obviously they didn't have any good relationship, Aether hate him so badly for all the experiments and bad things >
Ooh, I can actually talk about this one; Bridget and Alice Cheung are daughter and mother, and one of the central conflicts of my story is how Alice wants more for Bridget, where Bridget is dedicated to the whole "being a hero" thing.
Blaine's pigeon started off as a one-off doodle because I wanted to draw a cute pigeon, and it just became A Thing. He would appreciate overlooked or maligned creatures and dopey cute things. Now a passenger pigeon specifically. (Something something recently extinct animals)
