We have our boy Mace, and his pup Pilot. Art by @trinasart.bsky.social Mace had stumbled upon the stray dog my accident. The dog was wary but didn’t act out like most creatures did to the Dhampir. So Mace offered the dog some food and both being outcasts, they remained friends ever since!

Scottie here and his winged snake familiar: Meringue. Scottie here is the grandchild of the gods of life and death. His father is a demigod and a grim-reaper type being. Scottie is also a werewolf. He got his winged noodle as a gift when he was younger.
One of my characters is a druid named Batty. She herself is a weird enough character, but her most recent companion is a bit abnormal. His name is Trash & he is a vampiric raccoon she found in the trash. She "rescued" him & he now lives in her head. He is the first of her undead companions
My wizard Aislinn has her familiar Lilith. Unlike most wizards, her familiar was not bound by a spell, but rather a connection to her infernal ancestor that she discovered. When she discovered this, her tenacity and ambition were rewarded with a contracted servant to aid in her pursuits.
Fox's cat Jello was given to him by his bf Castiel after Fox had a horrible mental break one night. He made and ate an insane amount of jello. Castiel found him and knew something had to change, and decided a cat would be a good healing aid. He was right- even if Jello causes chaos sometimes.
Rats! Jack is very strongly associated with them. There's a whole bunch of different kinds in Tistow; wisps, spirits, deities, you name it. And he can even turn into one himself!
Janis Joplin, Vlad's sphynx cat! She's very vocal and very friendly and her presence is therapeutic for both Vlad and the ex-trade folks who end up sheltering with him for a while. He got her as a kitten from a friend whose own cat had a litter.
Alex and Apple! Back in the early 2000's, Apple was just a fox, but he's been Alex's companion since the day I made her. When I started work for Kattabolt, Apple got an upgrade to Fruit Fox, which is a type of animal in Alex's world! She'll meet him in chapter 2, but traditionally he was a gift :)
