While the B story was Neil with a lantern and magic sword trying to get back to the surface. He would never speak, only inner-monologue, and one of the only jokes I remember was "Never thought I'd be doing THIS again..."

At the end, Rush is saved but they still don't know where Neil is, when he pretty well pops out of the ground like a prairie dog with a bunch of inventory/quest items including the head of a troll. ("Where have you been?" "Questing." as his only line of spoken dialogue in the episode.)
