The number of people who reported they could read Scots is slightly higher than the number of people who can speak Scots. Its a written language that three out of every ten people in Scotland are comfortable reading. 2/

Whilst there aren't many Scots books in high street bookshops, we might expect public libraries, that are funded by local residents, would have a representative and proportional number of Scots language books. 3/
