(Even though I didn’t ultimately think TLJ a success, Rey coming “from nothing” and the boy and the broom at the end were the most interesting and hopeful elements of it. So JJ Abrams taking a dump on them was grimly hilarious.)

And I feel a bit cheated she’s now no longer the focus companion. I did like her mum being…a scared young parent and not THE BIG BAD/WHITE GUARDIAN/SUSAN/ROMANA or whatever. He referenced how annoying Return of Skywalker was in retconning TLJ on Rey’s background. And I agree there.

I really liked Ruby Sunday - and I didn’t, in fact, bump too much on her being relatively fully formed (she needed an opportunity, not a character reset). What was missing - in a truncated season - was her and the Doctor interacting together. Their relationship didn’t really develop.
