ultimately i think there's just less polling going on right now, so that allows partisan gop and red wave pollsters to shift averages in their direction more frequently. i have no idea why polling is as infrequent right now as it is, i am worried it's because harris is not getting good numbers.

but it could also simply be that the media is trying to hedge bets to avoid backlash and maybe also hope to benefit from a horse race perception. we'll see soon, regardless.
