My concern is that someone who hasn’t been problematic at all suddenly posts something vile, and now those who followed but haven’t even seen the crap get dumped.

I had never heard of such a thing as a blocking app. This all sounds very technical to me. I'm a non-tecchie person. Is it easy to use? For example I thought I read somewhere that I had to create a special password for it while still in Bluesky but I poked around and didn't see anyplace to do that.
I wish blocking was like old school FB (not been on there for years) where you just disappear from the blocked person’s UI; they can’t see you or anything. Seeing that you’ve blocked them just tells them to just look at your account from an alt.
Block as many of these BS idiots as you can. The election is coming.
