Well, whatever you do, don't install uBlock Origin, navigate to the "my filters" tab, and add "www.youtube.com##+js(nano-stb, resolve(1), *, 0.001)" to it (without the quote marks). That would be naughty.

I believe the bug was fixed on youtube's end already, at least, it hasn't been bothering me in firefox. Youtube filter rules are in pretty fast flux these days so adding custom rules on top is more likely to break things than anything else.

i heard that might violate the terms of services, but i'm just a kindly old man who doesn't know how to use the computer local teens hopped up on fentanyl broke into my house and went "goblin mode" installing ublock origin filters and now i simply can't stop myself from not watching ads

Finally, one that works. I tried a few others and I guess YouTube updated it to make sure they didn't work. Screw YouTube and their ads. lol
