Watched MARS ATTACKS, Tim Burton’s final defensible film, with my kid today. Not as good as I remembered, but much better than its reputation.

I know it’s bad but will you tell me why his Sweeney is bad? Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are weak vocally but I feel like there might be a floor for how bad a movie with Sondheim’s music and Alan Rickman can be. Maybe his best in the post-defensible period at least?

Kind of think it’s an underrated Nicholson performance!

It sucks that Tim Burton died after making this movie. But thankfully he never became super annoying and obsessed with using CGI for every aspect of his filmmaking, completely replacing any semblance of the handmade and authentic.

If TB goes through with his planned remake of Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman, I will personally go all Nancy Archer on his ass.
