Autistic Reporter Michael Falk is waiting by the phone. He's been there all day, and also yesterday and probably the day before too. Honestly waiting for the call is really messing with his ability to do anything else during the day because the phone could ring at ANY TIME
I found them at CB2 years and years ago, and was thrilled to recently learn that they still make them! I thought I was going to have to scrounge on ebay or something to get a second set www.cb2.com/abe-20-piece...
"Akshually the higher gas and other taxes in California that pay for road maintenance equals out to paying a toll so it's all the same" Cool I don't want to explicitly know about the $25 I am charged to drive somewhere on a normal road
NOOOOOO
Seriously, $25 to drive through Pennsylvania on a normal interstate? That is offensive to me personally
Choosing to believe that Canadian dimes are actually the size of US quarters and this spider is even bigger than it appears
Hell yeah *eats a turkey dinner that's just sitting on a tray on the floor in the corner of the room*
For me, even now as an adult, learning something new that has a lot of steps or detailed instructions but not really any logic to it is hard. I need a mental scaffold to hang a process on, and then it's much easier for me to visualize and understand.
The fact that you're asking for advice is a great step, and it helps everyone know to be patient with each other -- you with your kid and your kid with you. If you can give a reason why a task needs to be done a certain way or in a certain order, that might help it "stick" for the future
Awesome! More than anything for me personally, making sure kid and parents both explicitly understand what's meant by a particular task description is key. "Go to bed" doesn't mean "go do whatever activity you were doing, but in bed", it means "go to sleep", etc. It sounds silly but it's important
