Speaking in PA at a Lance Wallnau event now, JD Vance rails against IRS restrictions on churches endorsing candidates: “The First Amendment doesn't mean anything if churches aren't allowed to preach what they think they should preach without the government or anybody else telling them what to do.”

Is Vance an idiot or does he just assume his followers are idiots? Churches can endorse whoever they like. They just have to give up their tax exempt status if they want to be political.

They genuinely have zero respect for their followers, whether warranted or not. Of course churches can say what they'd like. They just don't get the tax break that effectively places support for them on the backs of taxpayers.
