Back in half-sunny California after setting up Bluesky's (small) US East PoP ("datacenter") right in the midst of the big players in Northern Virginia. Few days of racking, stacking, labeling, and cabling followed by a couple days of recovering from food poisoning from Nandos. Bluesky++

Interesting. Is AWS doing colo, now?

I hope Bluesky will have a public data/status page. Considering starting a federation will require a lot more investment than mastodon, it would be interesting to know how much data is generated every day, bandwidth usage per user and other such stats.

Going with a data center in the world of cloud is a bold choice nowadays, be curious to know more behind the decision
