I promise that if pf2e seems daunting, you can just learn things along the way instead of trying to learn everything all at once. you can even rely on your players to learn the rules relevant to the characters they make. you're even allowed to get things wrong sometimes!

If it feels daunting as a player, that is 100% on the GM. The biggest difference between 5e and 2e as a player is that one has "actions, bonus actions, movement, and reactions" whereas 2e has "three squares and a reaction". What you do takes between one and three squares. It's that easy.

In my experience GMing both pf2e and Delta Green the easiest way to bring people from 5e to other games is offering to run it, providing pregens , hell, just being there to answer questions

This. I did a sort of graduated introduction of various actions and other rules over time and I got people who'd never played a TTRPG at all on board with little issue.

I've said it elsewhere before but the DC by Level and Difficulty Alteration charts will handle most questions a GM will ever have about the system.

you can also tell stories and rp a lot if that's what you and your table like to do! it's just as good at doing that as 5e, because 5e. doesn't really seem to actually be BUILT for that anyway?

as someone that got into ttrpgs with pf1e and my group then switching to 2e when it came out, reminder in general, ttrpg rulebooks CAN be dense and full of edge cases, but they are GAMES and open book experiences, you dont need to memorize everything and can just ignore things for your tables fun
