California landlords sure do have a lot of extra millions to pour into tv/ youtube advertising against the ballot initiative that would allow local cities to do basic rent control - golly wonder how they got all that surplus money?

And an even bigger landlord slush fund to throw up their own proposition that would punish the specific group that got the rent control initiative on the ballot - so much extra money that these lords of the lands didn’t need for anything important!
