How accurate are vote-by-mail elections? WA's 39 counties (mostly red) just did a hand recount of 1.9 million ballots to determine the 2nd-place finisher in our top-two primary for Commissioner of Public Lands, resulting in a net change of just 2 votes. This is how fair elections REALLY work.
The recount needs to be certified by the secretary of state's office, which is expected to happen Wednesday, Sept. 4.
