Although I am not against the Bluebook generally, I can TOTALLY 100% get behind challenging some of their stupider rules, and you are not wrong about this one. 😊
Also looking for that miami herald article - let me know the title and I'll see what I can do.
Yup, I'm on that email right now. :-)
Do you still need help? I realize it's last minute, but i just saw this. I have some time this morning. LMK.
Or, could there be some kind of table that shows what the entity was called when, in chronological order, that the reader can refer to, possibly in an appendix? Just like in books when the characters are confusing and have different names throughout the narrative?
If that is what you are doing, I think it's correct, but I had to read the footnote you have now twice to figure that out. Could there be a shorter footnote that focuses more on the chronological changing of the plaintiff name first?
This is really interesting. So when you are citing to the Federal Circuit case and documents you are using the plaintiff name with the parenthetical, but when you are citing to the ND Ill decision and documents, you are using the plaintiff name at the time the document was filed, right? (more)
When I teach legal research classes, my hypos are always related to the 4th amendment. However, I have not had a 4th amendment class since crim pro in law school. So I just signed up for a 4th amendment CLE through the Social Law Library even though I don't practice law, and I can't wait. 🙃
I really wanted to meet two editing deadlines today, and I only met one, and now I'm sad. The other one will be met tomorrow. I'm just so tired. I have been sitting at this desk for so long.
