What is the endgame for indiscriminately killing Israeli civilians? We are seeing it. It is indiscriminate air strikes on Gaza. Apartment blocks full of children will be obliterated. What do we say to them? “Thank you for your sacrifice?”

This is what has been bouncing around in my head. Hamas knows there is no endgame to this. There is no path to victory. It is nihilism. It is murder for the sake of murder that they know will only lead to more murder.

This kind of shit is why the Israeli state *loves* Hamas

boggles the mind that folks cannot understand that "Israel's government has systematically closed off any chance for effective peaceful resistance" and "the specific actions taken by Hamas were monstrous and will make things worse" are both true statements

I understand what you're saying, but if you flip the argument around you get exactly the endless cycle of violence that led us to this point. The fact of the matter is that the West supports Israel, and Americans condemning Hamas does absolutely nothing. So there's one thing left for y'all to do.

Hamas *set out to intentionally shock the conscience* last Saturday by murdering civilians on Simchat Torah, taking hostages, and posting video of it They were *trying* to be depraved and some people are still defending them on moral grounds!

That seems like a question for Israel, they left Palestinians no other option. The Nat Turner Rebellion killed children too, were they casualties of abolition or slavery?

The best reasons given have been "to force Israel to accept its current security policies cannot work" and "cause havoc with the Abraham Accords." Western sympathies do not seem to have factored in. Has it ever done any good at changing Israeli policy? To be clear, we all must condemn Hamas

i think the thing is literally *any* solution will lead to them getting the exact same, because that's what they've already been getting, in a rhythm of ebbs and flows. killing israeli civilians bad, yes, but palestinians get brutalized regardless.

You're putting the cart before the horse. It wasn't Palestinians or even Hamas who started this cycle of violence. This all stops if US stops allowing it, but the money laundering is far too lucrative
