serious question: what kind of power do you think i derive from having a big account here?
Remember when you were rightfully complaining about people responding to things you hadnât said? See below. Same thing happening to the person you replied to. Sheâs not getting much backing. Thatâs one example of the power bog accounts have.
X-ray vision and freeze breath?
Power to be heard I guess?
Extra biscuits at Bob Evans
Most of it is intangible and emotional, but its still a kind of power. Bigger accounts have more clout, more people to defend them during an argument, more impact on how popular a particular stance is perceived to be, etc. This doesn't justify shit behavior, but its not negligible on social media.
Perhaps not here, but on Twitter, big accounts like Matt Taibbi would retest a 100 follower account accusing them of failing to worship Sanders, and drive that person right off Twitter. Look how Libs of.. uses her following to terrorize schools, hospitals, etc.
Hadouken has a liberal bias
The power to attract dipshits and mouth breathers.
Phenomenal cosmic power
I think the "power" can sometimes be that people see your replies way more readily, meaning that your more personal convos are more exposed, which again isn't a thing you control more than something that exists
