Yeap. Weebs are basically a small incel subclass. I run into them from time to time online, and you'll see them floating around r/anime
Had this conversation with my GenZ sons the other night. Apparently they reserve it now only for those who own both a katana and full-size anime body pillow.

Maybe for Gen Z, but a lot of the millennial weebs are still around.
I wonder if it’s permanently ensconced like Italian and German culture is with white people. No immigration on that scale so does it outlive the generation?

i think there's not nearly as much stigma with it and generally it probably just comes down to how much someone bases their personality on it, but how's that really any different than any other fandom
Anecdotal, but my buddy who was an elementary school 2019-2021ish said the same. They all watched anime, and they were shocked to find out he did too
