yes. this interview wasn’t for voters, it was to see how harris responded to the narratives that they themselves created!

Jamelle, do you think Harris would do an interview with you? You could ask her actual questions, and it would make a really interesting column.

I hope Harris/Walz now NEVER so another MSM interview again. "You had your chance."

It's the FUBU episode for elite political media

Just an endless go-round of meta-narratives that may hint at some kind of intangible quality.

It's Soylent Green for journos and pundits. As evidenced from Bret Stephens eating the gruel Bash made for b'fast 🤢 www.nytimes.com/live/2024/08...

Toff, Palmer, & Nielsen's "Avoiding the News" finds that news avoiders experience this quite keenly:

Many news avoiders also felt that the way news is presented made it difficult to understand. Some said they were not educated or clever enough to understand news (as we discuss later), but other interviewees put the blame squarely on news itself, in particular what they felt was the cryptic way political and economic news is presented. For example, Aria, a Spanish college student, said, “I look at the news, and it seems like they’re explaining to an economist or a politician, … and there are things I don’t understand, so I say, ‘Why am I going to watch the news if they explain it so you don’t understand?’ ” Other interviewees said they felt traditional news assumed too much prior knowledge. As Gracie (United Kingdom) put it, “You’re expected to know about all of these people, and it [the news] doesn’t explain who they are, so, again, it’s not accessible.”
