Between his age, his apparent poor health, and the corrosive rage that suffuses everything he does, I would be very surprised if he was alive in 2028. He can avoid would-be assassins, but not a stroke or heart attack from his own poor maintenance of his body.
If he can’t win or gin up an insurrection he will emigrate.

He's running again even if he is in prison. And he'll win the GOP primary.
That would only encourage him. So he can pardon himself.
If Trump is alive, I 100% expect him to run in 2028. What I don't know is whether an 82-year-old, even more demented, diminished Trump will have the juice to bully the GOP into nominating him again. If he's POTUS, that's an obvious yes. If he's imprisoned --- probably also yes.
