it is actually really crazy that harris has a net positive rating. general assumption has been that national political figures don’t get that kind of favorability when they are actively vying for high office

I feel like this is meaningful because when you consider how racist this country is, getting favorability ratings like that is really extraordinary. Will it translate to votes? God, I hope so!

Yet another very (very!) good showing of good judgment/character from Kamala Harris - picking Tim Walz as her running mate. And, I might add, another showing of Bidens' "good judgment/character" in picking Harris. These choices are not an accident, people! Please pay attention when you vote!

Particularly women. So many of us underestimated her when thinking about Biden dropping out.

"Project 2025: less popular than socialism" would be quite the slogan.

I love how it's just "Capitalism" vs. "Socialism" - survey taking folks, I hate to break it to you but market economies are nonbinary and it's just an insane question, but go on

I recall part of the CW in sticking with Biden was that as soon as any of the alternatives became nominee their approval/disapproval would immediately sink. For that reason I was skeptical of replacing him, but I am happy to be very wrong here

It's amazing. She's been underwater since summer of 2021 in the 538 average and just turned positive (barely) in a process that started at the beginning of July. I've been watching it and the graph is completely wack projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/favora...

Harris’s approval ratings (both total and net) improving after she became the nominee seems also to complicate the (very understandable and well-supported) view that women are punished for ambition. Maybe it has something to do with the idea that the nomination was thrust upon her?

My brain is melting trying to square this with voting polls.
