Old habits die hard. Republicans are riding on the history of the party, with the expectation that the reality of their current actions won't get thru to their cult members until it's too late to reverse the decisions. We are actually quite close to that happening (ie SCOTUS, Project 2025, etc.).
I had to deal with someone who is voting third party because he thinks they're both liars. And I pointed out one has a guy who wants a day of The Purge and the other wants me to keep my rights as a woman. Didn't register to them. And it's infuriating.
