journalists need to stop treating this like it means anything. “what if trump rejects the results” so what, who cares?
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says that if he does not win the Nov. 5 election, he will cry fraud and not accept the results - just as he did four years ago when he lost to Democratic President Joe Biden.
What happens is some Trump supporters commit crimes then go to jail. Others will lose their law licenses.
Say more please. Aren’t there GOP politicians, election boards etc prepared to assist him in throwing the election? I get that he doesn’t have the advantage of incumbency this time, but I doubt they’re completely powerless (??)
I think the flip side of this coin is there needs to be more emphasis on educating the public on the safeguards already in place. The MAGA goal isn’t to prove cheating, but simply cast doubt.
What if he kept doing it? What if he was still doing it, four years later? What if he made his new running mate do it in a weird, humiliating loyalty test? These are all just hypotheticals of course
January 3rd is the Speaker of the House vote; without which, will there be a certification on January 6th?
He can reject the results & he will (because he'll lose). Nothing much else he can do other than going to the courts. And he'll lose there too. I'm looking forward to Donald blowing a gasket when Harris declares herself the winner as President of the Senate on Jan. 6th.
right? he is not in office anymore. he can bitch and moan all he wants. the question is how many senators and members of congress want to be complicit in another coup attempt ? He still has plenty of flunkies unfortunately
right, we won't let him do that again.
Also, too, there's no "what if" about it. Hell, he rejected the results in 2016, when he nominally won. (Remember, he claimed he'd also won the popular vote.)
