Off to get the sleeper train to London soon. I hope I never lose the sense that this is actually a bit exciting.

Trains are always exciting: the weird enforced space-sharing with utter strangers you are unlikely to see again, each with their own story and reason for travelling.

About ten years ago my dad and I realised we were getting the same sleeper up to London. Normally I just go straight to the cabin, but this time I met my dad in the bar bit and we had a chat and a drink.
