“John Mitchell, while totally serving as U.S. Attorney General, personally controlled a sus Republican fund- and we‘ve got the receipts! Bye, Felicia!!”
After the show (a matinee) I stood outside the Public and watched the cast exit. Richard B. Schull made airplane wings with his arms as he walked up Lafayette Street and Olympia Dukakis laughed at him and said "What are you doing?!" I wasn't a professional actor yet and I thought "This is the life."
A defining event of my early playgoing, I vividly remember scene after scene. Described Richard B. Schull's bacon impression to my wife not more than a month ago. RIP CD.
Hey if you’re in or near LA, come see me in my first play in 12 years- BRUSHSTROKE by John Ross Bowie, a dark comedy about art & espionage set in 1950s NYC! Thru March 3rd at the Odyssey Theatre. Tix: TinyURL.com/BrushstrokeInLA. It’s a blast!
I’ll take it!
I was in one of those if you wanna drop my name
Thank you!
Had a dream last night where I interacted with both Parker Posey and Joan Blondell, extremely on brand.
That underlooked gem CUTTER'S WAY (Ivan Passer, '81) is back on Criterion Channel. One of the BEST of the '60s-generation-taking-stock-of-themselves-in-the-post-Nam-era genre. Brilliant performances including Jeff Bridges suggesting a yuppified version of the Dude before he went to seed. A must see!
