i understand that feeling ,the truth is if we actually allowed a real balance of nature animals such as hedgehogs and porcupines should really be good at taking care of slugs en masse but there really does need to be quite a few of them running around,but road kill and ignorance means its hard

Agree smells and sounds are the best at recalling memories , often a song can take you back to an exact far off moment, i even get to recall a Sainsbury food hall here , when there was food not covered in plastic and people helped instead of trolleys and checkouts, it felt happier ?
i used to love cutting up mature oak branches when we had a wood burner at home , the smell is like perfume and so evocative of my youth and a past , almost like a real coffee shop or bakers .. actually living in Italy so i live not far from a factory of roast coffee too ...always circles in life
