Some of you may know that despite having 35,000+ followers over on X, I've stopped posting there due to my discomfort w Elon Musk. Right now I'm trying to figure out if this or Threads is the best place for BP. I prefer it here, but it's daunting to start from scratch again! I'll give it a try. 🙏
It's hard to get financing to build an ADU for your mom when there's an owner occupancy requirement. Because they're hard to sell, the value can't be included in the appraisal. It gives the appearance of reform without actually enabling many people to build ADUs.
Went back to MFO park in #Zürich with friends. Fall colors have arrived, and the temporary art installation is fun to play with.
Excellent!
Oops, exhausted, threaded wrong. bsky.app/profile/jann...
I also rode the world's steepest funicular today. It climbs at a 110% grade in some parts (rising 110 meters for every 100 meters of distance). The round cars make for a flat spot to stand as you climb, and the supports on the bottom are the markers on the % climb measure painted on the glass walls.
I hiked up a mountain today. The hike was up from balmy green, up, up, and more up to snowy ice, no flats to catch your breath. Exhausting, and glorious.
Yes. I encourage you to go submit your comment. @moreneighbors.bsky.social can help.
The Faircloth Amendment needs to go. Public housing is good. We should build more. (I'm unconvinced it has anything to do with hedge funds or typical rents. Let's blame adding Section 42 LIHTC incentives to the tax code, zoning, local control, mortgage financing, and RealPage for that.)
