The thing is mid-budget movies, as a group, lose *alot* of money that's why studios went bankrupt left and right in the 80's and 90's.
This one's a fair point which isn't as much on my radar. Given the crazy tax-writing-off chaotic corporate destruction of the entertainment industry these days, though, I'm not ready to buy that it's an improvement. 😉
