The rapidly accelerating complex of landslides in Rancho Palos Verdes has created an unforeseen outcome: a new coastline as the seafloor is pushed upward.
Wow. This sounds a little like a larger version of the slumps caught on video down at Blacks Beach (closer to San Diego) a while back. Wild stuff!
Won’t be spreading a towel for a bit.

coastal uplift due to RPV-sized rotational slump (?) was not on my geomorphology bingo sheet. Impressive!
