In one year I was on 3 different NIH fellowship panels. I had various disagreements with panelists and even an SRO. Wasn’t invited back the next year 😬

Hoping the new review will help this process, but it still involves getting reviewers to focus on training and potential & less just 'merit'. I see a lot of good spread in labs (in my small sample so far) where students are successful for F31s so I don't think there is huge bias there.
