I've resigned myself to the fact that no matter what I do with the rest of my life, THIS is what I will be remembered for. #SpongeBob #nosferatu
It's such an out-of-nowhere joke that makes no sense as a kid, but is still extremely memorable. And as an adult, I appreciate the irony in the gag. Also, it taught me about gothic vampires and the old Nosferatu movie, so that was neat.

The sash-ringing, the trash-singing, mash-flinging...?
I was a bit old to habitually watch Spongebob but one day while skipping college I caught this episode and the Nosferatu insert was a genuine "what even if this show!?" event. So congrats. It's a gag I've never forgotten either.
Hell of a legacy!
you say it as if it was a bad thing to be known for one of the greatest jokes ever aired on television.
One could do a lot worse than creating a timeless piece of cultural memory.
Still an iconic board after all these years!
Jay, I've always wanted to ask this. What in the world inspired this gag? Is it an inside joke?? Did you watch Nosferatu the night before?? Is there any additional context at all??
Hey, I love this bit. And I think of it every time I see Nosferatu. You're immortal!
