Someone should tell him how delicious ice is when deep fried.

It was a joke about how the only people clamoring about how “the people” need more details are the DC political press who also ignore the same details when they exist.

Sure, but what about outside the DC beltway political “press”? 😀

Sorry I’m not clearer. The message is unimportant for the people I’m talking about and actively dismissed for when inconvenient for their identity and beliefs. Only the vibes and reputation that they are a “strongman.” Thanks for discussing this. Have a great day too.

Because fascism is a perfect fit for lazy thinking. There’s a “strongman” that has all the answers. And these are not people using logic to get there. Any else encourages cognitive dissonance and discomfort.

Actual beliefs don’t figure in. Anything that makes it hard to fit in is just thrown out the window and rationalized away as not real.

My guess is simpler, combination of cult of personality, personal identity of being “a republican”, and wanting to fit in with those they see as peers (neighbors, friends, and coworkers) for whom it would be a struggle to if they were to become an outlier in the group identity.

I’m not sure it always does. I have seen too many people both that I know, and quoted in other places that repeatedly claim things like: “he doesn’t actually believe that”, “you can’t take him seriously”, “he’s just saying that for the attention and won’t actually do it”… it’s anti- information.

For the group I’m thinking about (which includes family I know) they disbelieve all the negative news that goes against their internalized perception. It’s truly head in the sand behavior. The horrific vibes don’t even register.
