All this cop had to do was write a traffic ticket to the guy who handed over his license and *told them to write him a ticket*, and this doesn’t even make news. But he decided that Hill wasn’t sufficiently deferential, and that it was his job to teach him a lesson. Gross, bad, unreformable.

Same cop then decides to threaten two other citizens who happened to be nearby at the time, simply because they were nearby at the time with camera phones in hand. I'm guessing those phones were the real reason the footage got released.

But the video shows he was sitting in his car (no seatbelt) with the windows rolled up refusing to cooperate with the cops. How was the cop supposed to write the ticket if the driver wouldn't roll down the window & hand over his DL & insurance info? Cops aren't angles, but neither is this guy.
Hill had a combative attitude from the very beginning, then he refused a simple, reasonable request to keep his (tinted) window down. I understand there have been horrible examples of cops beating—even killing—black men for minor shit. This ain’t that.

What would have happened if they fucked his knee? Or his elbows or shoulders while they were kneeling on his back putting him in cuffs? As a professional athlete, they could have fucked his career right there, and for what? A traffic ticket? Inexcusable. How many cops does it take to write a ticket?
