Sam Alito's intent to retire if Trump wins the election is more or less common knowledge in these circles, and it's very funny to watch prominent Republicans pretend like they're in the dark www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...
Great, tell the world, 2016's biggest mistake was not making it about the Supremes.
These strategic retirements kind of give further lie to the already fictional idea that the Justices are not "political".
On the other hand it would be entertaining to see him stroke out if Harris is elected.
Hawley is only 'prominent' for being such an ass.
It’s also pretty funny to consider an increasingly bitter Alito forced to work well past when he wants to retire, potentially forcing him to work until he dies b/c he tried to protect a toxic political candidate like Mr. Trump rather than letting him go thru the legal system naturally.
I think he and his Brother Clarence Thomas should both be impeached for corruption even if we know the Senate will refuse to convict regardless of the evidence, but WTF do I know. The evidence, by the way, has been out for about a year now; ProPublica won a Pulitzer for it.
Thomas gonna stay for the love of the game I guess
And Supreme Court Justice-in-waiting Aileen Cannon impatiently drums her fingers.
Alito will NOT be retiring anytime soon 🤞🤞🤞
In his last official act as President, I hope Biden puts the conservative majority on the Supreme Court in Gitmo. “They said it was OK,” Biden told The Times.
