If you can, use "commit" as a verb instead. This is how I usually say things. I would never say "do a commit". I might add a commit to a repository. I might finish a commit or submit a commit. I'm struggling because I instinctively use "commit" as the verb itself.

Thanks! 🙏 I struggled to avoid writing 'to commit a commit'. 'Submit' and 'finish' are nice choices.
