I think the idea behind the University of Austin was supposed to be that a state like Texas would allow endangered learning to take place. Instead, it is in one of the states most likely to censor education, teaching stuff that's in no danger, and congratulating everyone involved for being brave.
I think the idea is that a right-wing billionaire in Texas was willing to provide money and buildings for a "university" that would have entire classes about how the people he disliked were Very Very Wrong.
I get your point but I don’t actually think Weiss et al ever actually thought any learning was endangered anywhere. They know exactly the grift they are running and the lies that grift depends upon.
You're overthinking it. It's a beef with the extremely liberal, and deft at withstanding state attempts to overtake it, University of Texas at Austin.
