Part two here, responding to some criticism: www.liberalcurrents.com/in-defense-o...
"No Human is Illegal" is an ideal we can appeal to, however imperfectly it is put into practice.
Since libertarian stances toward the election seem to be a topic of the day here, I'll just note that we've been clear on the stakes at @liberalcurrents.comwww.liberalcurrents.com/to-my-fellow...
Libertarians, long used to holding their noses to pick the lesser evil or abstaining entirely, now have plenty of reasons for enthusiasm.
Trump is openly running on election fraud, weaponizing DOJ, deporting 6-8 percent of the population, crippling tariffs, and imprisoning dissenters. It’s the most authoritarian, anti-freedom platform in modern presidential history. This is the November cover of the leading libertarian magazine.
Just wild to think that Lee Atwater felt the need to apologize for the racism of the Willie Horton ad, back on his deathbed in 1991. Compared to tweets like this, the Horton ad isn’t just subtle and sophisticated, it’s almost color-blind.
Relatable.
Oh, no no no. Just the excerpts are too much.
My dad did a couple of terms as a New Hampshire state rep (there are 400 of them, everyone in the state takes a turn). He won by four votes. He voted in favor of the veto override for death penalty abolition. It passed by one vote. Every vote counts.
Something like 70 million people a year come in and out of America for tourism or business travel. How exactly do illiberals propose to close the borders given that basic reality
I'm at @liberalcurrents.com today to say that if you've heard someone say the left is trying to push open borders on people, don't buy it. Liberals are fighting against an actual policy extreme that's been given teeth by sitting governments: closed borders. It's time to fight back.
The way forward is clear
It has been annoying a couple of times but X keeps coming up with ways to make sure I don't regret deleting all of my posts and likes.
