AMD Socket AM4 is some precarious bullshit. Just destroyed a CPU by removing the cooler. Thermal paste too effective at gripping, and the socket ostensibly tries to hold the CPU by clamping the pins -- just not very much! Bunch of pins on one corner got fucked up as it came apart; CPU is now cactus.
