Just heard about some friends who live in Hickory, NC. They lost everything, had to be evacuated. The water in their house was rising 6" every 15 minutes. They are safe but this is devastating.

I don't feel like the national media is conveying right now what a catastrophe is unfolding in western North Carolina.

Thank goodness the dam held. Otherwise bye bye Lake Lure.
