Tradeoffs rule the world
However, I also assert that win-wins are possible in finding solutions to the joint biodiversity-climate crises. These issues must be tackled together. So, in short, tradeoffs rule the world, but win-wins may be possible.
And I touch on recent modelling work that shows that the more objectives there are, the more stakeholders there are, or the more constraints there are, the less likely you are to reach a win-win (and the more severe the tradeoff).
Hi Veronika. Thanks for asking. Probably better coming from the lead author Lauren for this one. Happy to help though. Have been nudged a few times by UC comms though to pitch something to you from my newsletter.
I tried to avoid it
Same here. I paid $75x2 on a recent trip to be able to choose seats on 24h of flights. No way am I going to sit middle seat on that long of a journey.
Lucky. I’ve paid for seat choice on my own dime despite having lots of research funding. 😡
Me too! I’m so frustrated that we can’t ask for any extra legroom or even choose our seat many times. If we’re going straight to a workshop across the world we need to be able to sleep!
These are cool Heather!
