oh, it very likely was--I was out between 6:30 and 7:30 in the lands around Prospect Park, wearing my cartoon character jogging outfit! I am glad to help resolve the mystery (unless you saw someone at a different time than that, in which case I'm also troubled by the mystery now O_O)

Sheri stayed in Greenwich Village, moving into an apartment at 23 Jones Street...Talented, beautiful, and intriguingly eccentric, she made a striking impression on all who met her, evident from the writings of those who knew her. In her diary entry for December 1945, Anaïs Nin recounts how she learned that a"romantic-looking girl" was reading her short-story collection Under a Glass Bell and had told her publishing partner Gonzalo Moré that she wanted to meet Nin but was too shy...Nin suggested that she attend a lecture of hers at Mills College. When Sheri approached her at the end of the lecture, Nin writes,"I recognized her. She was like a ghost of a younger me, a dreaming woman, with very soft, burning eyes, long hair streaming over her shoulders." At first, Sheri didn't say a word: "She merely stared at me, and then handed me a music box mechanism, without its box..."

i think my current flinch response level belief is that feeling bad and without hope is something we all have to do sometimes, but we should cloak these impulses in idk, novels and movies and hyperpop. texts like the cloth over the ortolan-eater's jaws. polite conversation is all about strength!
