It’s both wrong and stupid. Wrong because you don’t compromise when they try to pick off an ally. Stupid because it fails to appreciate the electoral benefit of supporting Trans rights.

I come from a Midwestern state where we shared the conservative social values of the region. But Democrats here recognized the political advantage to be gained by leading on issues like abortion and GLBTQ rights. The strategy turned the state dark blue. Polarize; don’t compromise.
