'The Rise & Fall of Dinosaurs' by Steve Brusatte. Whilst a tad 'Boys Own Magazine' in style, it's a very compelling account. I learred much from it, along with respect for today's palaeontology. And 'Behave' by Robert Sapolsky - very rich and empathetic (see also his earlier 'A Primate's Memoir')

Really cute, TINY (northwestern deer?) mouse - body no more than an inch long. Look at the size of the foot! Olympic peninsula #nature

A favourite of mine too. "Halt! Who goes there?" (answer:) "Baaa!" Makes me laugh just thinking of it.

A very dapper sparrow - rufus collared, seen by Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina. Just love the collar, and the fine marking on the back.

A chimango caracara in repose - after a bit of bullying by a bigger southern crested caracara. Cerro Llao Llao, Argentina.
