Daily unheard album: Qaalm — Resilience & Despair. Some light Monday afternoon listening! #dailyunheardalbum
Laughton and Lugosi are incredible; main guy is a delightful dumbass. Mood for days.
ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (dir. Erle C. Kenton, 1932). Early adaptation of Island of Dr. Moreau, an effective cautionary tale about the hubris of confident white men. Surprisingly grisly for 1932. Rob Zombie, Danny Elfman, and Mark Mothersbaugh loved it; HG Wells did not. youtu.be/D6wWPwz4BAM

ODDITY (dir. Damien McCarthy, 2024). Beautifully shot horror story that asks, “Would it be scary if we sat a creepy wooden man in plain sight in a room with people hiding secrets?” And the answer is a definitive YES. youtu.be/tLNDvnv8B3A

Daily unheard album: Tora — Tora. Long lost NWOBHM classic— nah, just kidding, it’s German synth pop cheese with an extremely misleading cover. #dailyunheardalbum
I’m a riter!
Happy Death Day (dir. Christopher Landon, 2017). Wife picked this from this list and it was a good choice — well-structured and they do the character work so it’s engaging beyond just the (admittedly clever) gimmick. youtu.be/1NTaDm3atkc?...

Hey, you don’t know what you don’t know. The other album looks interesting!
Daily unheard album: Shakin’ Street — Vampire Rock. Not so much biting necks as biting Heart; still fun. #dailyunheardalbum
