OMG. One of my agents was this way. Not their fault, just their era, but it was a huge disconnect. Asked to have the three-gender aliens not be called men, women, and (constructed term), but male, female, and it. We parted soon after. Probably why I stopped querying 6 years ago & went self-pub.
My fleshlight was pretty scathing about my novel as well. We’re still friends but we don’t talk about my writing as much any more.

Um as a fiction writer of 40-plus years, let me just say that "I gave my AI girlfriend my novel to read" is bad meta cyberpunk.
