I'm honestly not trying to pin down one specific culture or race. My elemental Mancers can come from anywhere their element is more prevalent. The Pyromancer family I focus on comes from Iceland in the volcanic region, but there are plenty from desert climates and so on.

Then I think it should be distinct enough on its own. If you look up various regions fighting styles and avoid an eastern Asian focus, you should be good.
